GRONINGEN SEAPORTS | Chemical Cluster Delfzijl
Groningen Seaports is the economic operator, developer and authority for the port of Delfzijl, Eemshaven and the adjoining industrial sites. The organisation provides the complete package of port services to its industrial and commercial clients, from logistics and infrastructure services to the issue and maintenance of the sites in both port regions. As well as the two excellently equipped ports, Groningen Seaports manages the industrial sites around the ports and at other areas in the region.
Various clustered business sites are located on the sites, including a chlorine-related chemicals cluster with Nobian and its alliance partners as important players. Bordering the North Sea, Chemical Cluster Delfzijl has direct access to sea, inland shipping, the motorway infrastructure of Northwest Europe, and railroad. Moreover, the production and landing of a large amount of green electricity and green raw products are all integrated into this chemical cluster.
With a green energy mix provided by wind turbines, biomass, solar panels and hydropower, and the opportunities offered by the agricultural hinterland, Chemical Cluster Delfzijl is the best biobased location in Northwest Europe. Chemical Cluster Delfzijl is part of Chemport Europe, which is the incubator for green chemistry in the Northern Netherlands.
